Ebomi

Ondo State, established in 1976, is a state in Nigeria's South-West region. If you're looking for a state with a lot to offer visitors, Ondo is the perfect place. It has eighteen LGAs, most of which are populated by Yorubas; some sub-ethnic groups are Akoko, Akure, Ikale, Ilaje, Ondo, and Owo. Akure, the state's capital, is a gorgeous spot to visit. The state's natural beauty and calm environment make it a great place to stay. The Sunshine State has so much to offer; some of Ondo State's most notable landmarks and tourist attractions include the following:

The Idanre Hills

The Iraye tree marks the entryway to Idanre's ancient city, and once you reach it, you can begin your ascent to the enormous city that lies beyond the hills. Most interestingly, all of Ondo state is named after the Idanre hills. It has Six hundred and sixty-five stairs up to the pinnacle of the mountain, making it natural beauty and an excellent tourist attraction for everyone to see and experience for themselves. The hills provided a haven in time past for the indigenous population during the conflict. With an elevation of 3,050 feet (910 meters) above sea level, the area is home to a diverse ecology into which the cultural landscape has been seamlessly assimilated.

In 2007, the World Heritage Committee of UNESCO tentatively inscribed it in the Cultural subcategory of the World Heritage List.

The Ebomi Lake

Because of the lack of information about its depth, many people consider Ebomi Lake bottomless. Ondo State's northern and eastern borders meet in Ipesi-Akoko, where this 1.5-kilometer-long body of water is found.

People in Ipesi Akoko believe that it possesses mystical powers to safeguard the villagers during the wars by providing invisible soldiers who fight for the people of Ipesi. As a result of these and other factors, Ebomi Lake has become a popular tourist destination.

Olowo of Owo Palace

There is a small town in between Akure and Benin City called Owo. Owo has a rich history that can be traced back to Ile-Ife.

Yoruba land's largest and most lavish palace is located west of the town, occupying 99 hectares of land. At least 17 of the original 100 historic courtyards remain untouched.

"Deji" of Akure palace

Akure, the biggest and most populous metropolis in Ondo state, features several noteworthy interest sites. Visitors can learn about the Akure people's history, values, and culture by visiting the palace of the traditional king. Moreover, the court is home to numerous historical artifacts.

Cave Ashes

It takes around twenty minutes to drive from Akure to Isharun, where You may find the Cave of Ashes. To create the cave, enormous granite stones known as 'Iho Eleeru' (the Cave of Ashes) were arranged in an aesthetically pleasing cluster.

It has been around since 9200BC. The oldest prehistoric person in West Africa is said to have lived in the Cave of Ashes. Professor Thurstan Shaw, a professor at the University of Ibadan, discovered his skeletal remains.

This cave is surrounded by a variety of unusual rocks, one of which includes engravings believed by the locals to be an Ifa oracle's divination. Although the Caves of Ashes are an excellent tourist center, they remain primarily unexplored.

The Owo Museum of Contemporary Art

In 1968, the Owo Museum was established in Owo, Nigeria. As a result, it is rich in historical significance. As a result of the museum's closeness to Ile-Ife and Benin City, two cities known for their rich artistic and cultural histories, the antiques previously housed at Olowo's Palace were relocated there. The history of the Owo people can be gleaned from there.

These places are truly amazing, if you reside in ondo state and haven't seen these places, you are so wrong!
