Cocoahouse

Oyo is in the southwest area of Nigeria. The vast Oyo empire, a mighty empire that governed the Yoruba lands and people for roughly 500 years, was built where it stood. Its capital, Ibadan, is now Nigeria's third-most populous metropolis, behind Lagos and Abuja.

Because of this, it has become a very diversified and exciting area to visit, especially for tourists. There have been several tourist attractions in the state since its inception. The following are a few of these places:

 UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN

After more than six decades, the university of Ibadan zoological garden became a complete zoo in 1974. It's primarily intended for instruction, education, and entertainment. The zoo's facilities have significantly transformed to achieve the highest international standards. By acquiring and renovating ICT-sensitive infrastructure, it has gained notoriety and increased patronage after previously being relatively obscure. The new architectural style has changed many of the zoo's buildings.

Many new animals have been introduced to the garden. The zoo has separate sections for different kinds of animals. There are sections for birds, herbivores, carnivores, reptiles, and tiny animals throughout the garden.

The vision and purpose of the zoo have been rethought. The Zoo's Vision is to become a world-class zoo dedicated to the preservation of species and the preservation of the ecosystem, and its mission is to achieve this goal. It's also possible to observe a wide range of animals, from giraffes to zebras, to a variety of reptiles and aquatic animals, for just N500. If you at any point visit Ibadan, you should see the animals at the UI zoo.

THE PALACE OF IREFIN

The Irefin Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, completes our unusual itinerary. As a warrior clan, the Irefin people of the past established themselves in the area and were commanded by a man known as 'The Bale' of Irefin.

The Irefin Palace was built in this location. Many rooms are arranged in a specific way to accomplish a particular task. Other traditions, including judicial decision-making, dispute resolution, and worship, were shared during the period.

It isn't delightful to learn that a historical site like the palace isn't being maintained as correctly as it should be. Regardless, the palace's continued existence is a monument to the country's steadfast adherence to its rich cultural heritage and longstanding traditions.

AGODI GARDENS, IBADAN.

The gardens at Agodi used to be known as the Agodi Zoo and Botanical Gardens. Almost all of the animals in the garden perished in the 1980 Ogunpa flood disasters. The Oyo State Government reopened Agodi Gardens in 2014 after a significant renovation in 2012.

Tourists go to Ibadan to see the Agodi Gardens. Agodi Gardens is a beautiful 150-acre location with a peaceful atmosphere. During holidays and weekends, it's a popular destination for families. It has a water park, a lake, a restaurant, a little zoo, kiddie play areas, and a picnic and garden area.

As a premier destination for outdoor activities, such as garden parties and concerts, as well as weddings, Agodi Gardens is a top pick for nature lovers. It's a peaceful, lush, and green environment. It's also ideal for individuals who desire quiet time alone, picnics, or a get-together with family and friends.

Note that there is a #500 entry fee.

IDERE HILLS

Oyo State's newest tourism attraction is Idere Hills. It is a historic mountain in the middle of a lush green environment. The history of this hill goes back more than 600 years. Oyo State's Idere, a sleepy town, is home to this little gem.

One of Nigeria's most gorgeous landscapes may be seen in the Idere Hills. You can't get enough of a breathtaking view. When you visit this stunning peak, keep an eye out for the following sights. You can go trekking, bush walking, caving, rock climbing, and have a bonfire in the hills if you visit Idere Hills.

THE TOWER OF BOWER.

At the top of Oke-Are in Ibadan, one may view the Bower Tower. During his time as the first British Resident in Ibadan, the British government appointed Captain Robert Lister Bower to administrate the old city, which he did between 1893 and 1897.

The Bower's Tower was developed by Taffy Jones, the engineer behind Mapo Hall. Ibadan and its sprawling suburbs and prehistoric past can be seen from the tower's 11-foot-square observation deck, which has two doors and a spiral staircase leading up to its 60-foot-tall peak. The Bower Tower in Ibadan is well worth a visit if you find yourself in the area.

This tower provides a great view over the Lagos-Ibadan toll gate and the Ife-Ilesha toll gate. A large section of the city's rustic brown metal-roofed buildings may also be viewed from this tower, including the University of Ibadan, the Polytechnic of Ibadan, and Adamasinga Stadium.

COCOA HOUSE

Ibadan's Cocoa House, a 26-story structure built in 1965, is a landmark in the city. It was previously regarded as the highest skyscraper in the tropics. The profits from Cocoa trade and exports were used to build Cocoa House.

Odu'a Investment Company owns the property previously known as 'Ile Awon Agbe,' which translates to 'House of Farmers. In 1985, Cocoa House was utterly destroyed by a fire, but it has since been rebuilt and is still in use.

UNITY MUSEUM IN IBADAN

The National Museum of Unity in Ibadan is home to a treasure trove of unique artifacts and treasures from Nigeria's rich cultural history.

The museum's four sections are the Unity, Yoruba, and Masquerade exhibits.

There are also exhibits of pottery and ceramics. It is possible to visit the museum regardless of one's age, and tour guides are on hand to answer questions about the exhibits.
