Akwa Ibom State is a state in Nigeria's South-South geopolitical zone, it is bordered by Cross River, Rivers, Abia state, Cameroon, and the Atlantic Ocean.


The state's name was gotten from Qua Iboe River which cuts the state in half before emptying into the Bight of Bonny. It is considered as one one of Nigeria's cleanest and most attractive states.
